Mentoring program

Studying abroad and adjusting to a new environment can be challenging, particularly with cultural, language, and other differences. Recognizing this, Eurasia International University has implemented a Mentor’s Program to support international students in their adaptation process.

The mentors in this program are Armenian student volunteers, many of whom have previously been Erasmus students. Their firsthand experience enables them to understand the potential issues and challenges faced by international students. Each international student is assigned a mentor who can provide assistance and guidance in various areas, including:

  1. Meeting at Zvartnots International Airport.
  2. Accompanying to the hostel or accommodation.
  3. Assisting with the necessary documents for the migration center.
  4. Providing ongoing counseling and support.

Through the Mentor’s Program, international students at Eurasia International University can rely on the support and expertise of their mentors, who are dedicated to helping them navigate the initial stages of their study abroad journey and ensuring a smoother transition into the new environment.

Visa Support

For applicants holding foreign citizenship, the admissions process at EIU follows the regulations outlined in the decree on “Students with Foreign Citizenship” issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia. When a student is admitted to the preparatory department at EIU, the university applies to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia to obtain a visa. Once the permit is obtained, the student can then apply to the Armenian embassy in their home country (or a neighboring country) to obtain a single-entry visa.

Armenian visas are typically issued by the Armenian embassy in the applicant’s country of citizenship (or a neighboring country) for foreign applicants from CIS, EU countries, as well as non-EU countries that adopt the Schengen acquis. Visa fees are waived for applicants under the age of 18.

In some cases, foreign citizens from certain countries have the option to obtain visas upon their arrival in Armenia at designated border checkpoints. The process typically takes around 20-25 minutes.

When the visa expires, applicants are required to apply to the “Passport and Visa Department” for visa extension, located at Mashtots 13a in Yerevan. It is important to note that individuals with expired visas may be subject to fines.

Applicants also have the option to obtain an electronic visa (e-visa) prior to their arrival by applying through the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

For more detailed information on visa authorization, it is recommended to visit the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

Hostel

The university hostel provides accommodation for EIU students from remote areas as well as foreign EIU students. It is worth noting that EIU foreign instructors, volunteers, and guests are not charged for their stay at the hostel.

The hostel ensures that all rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi connection, enabling students to have convenient access to the internet for their academic and personal needs.

Courses offered in foreign languages

The primary language of instruction at EIU is Armenian. However, the university recognizes the need to accommodate international students and offers courses in English and Russian as well. These language options are available for both private and group courses, allowing students to choose their preferred learning format.

To support international applicants in their transition to studying in Armenian, the university organizes preparatory courses. In cases where there is a significant number of foreign students, the university may consider offering education in English, Russian, or with the assistance of a translator.

For exchange students visiting EIU for a few terms, the language of instruction is conducted in a foreign language, either English or Russian.

Upon completion of their studies at EIU, exchange students receive a transcript that provides a detailed overview of the courses they have taken and their academic performance. Foreign students who successfully complete bachelor’s and master’s studies and pass all the required exams are awarded a diploma, along with a diploma supplement. The diploma supplement contains comprehensive information about the courses completed and the academic achievements of the student.

It’s important to note that specific language offerings and policies may be subject to change, and it is advisable for prospective students to refer to official university sources or contact the university directly for the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding language instruction and academic documentation.
