The roundtable discussion was held at Eurasia International University on May 30, 2025, dedicated to the EntreComp4Youth entrepreneurial competence framework developed and adapted to the conditions and specificities of Armenia within the framework of an EU co-funded project.
The event brought together sectoral experts, representatives of civil society organisations, education specialists, and public officials. The meeting was opened by Ruben Markosyan, Vice-Rector of EIU and expert of the EU4Youth Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship project, who presented the main stages of the EntreComp4Youth revision process, the conducted analyses, and the developed recommendations.
During the discussion, participants highlighted several key issues, including:
- limited access to entrepreneurial education in Armenia, particularly in the regions;
- a lack of financial literacy and the so-called “fear of numbers” syndrome;
- The a need to provide more integration between formal and non-formal entrepreneurial education systems.
- The potential role of local self-government bodies and business incubators in promoting entrepreneurial education.
Particular attention was paid to how the EntreComp4Youth framework could be integrated into the education system, including its application in supplementary education programs, university curricula, and public activities and procurement systems. Participants emphasised the importance of creating a unified national platform or entrepreneurial education network that would foster stakeholder cooperation, share best practices, and ensure the visibility and practical application of the framework.
There was also a suggestion to pilot the EntreComp4Youth framework to localise and evaluate its effectiveness. After the discussion, participants proposed the development of an online tool to support the design of educational programs based on the EntreComp4Youth framework.
The event underscored the importance of the entrepreneurial competence framework in Armenia’s education and youth policy sectors and highlighted the need to apply advanced practices and strengthen cooperation among existing structures.
The “EU4Youth Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship” project is a regional initiative co-funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, implemented by the Central Project Management Agency (Lithuania) from 2021 to 2025 in the Eastern Partnership countries.
