Overview

The Bachelor’s program in Information Systems was developed in collaboration with prominent Armenian employers, aiming to cultivate specialists proficient in web technologies, programming, computer networks, database processing, data analysis, information systems security, and related fields.

Individuals interested in gaining expertise in information technology and pursuing a successful career in the field are encouraged to apply for the program. Alongside core subjects, students can select elective courses based on their interests and career aspirations. The department regularly updates the list of elective courses to align with the dynamic demands of the labour market and economy.

In the final semester of the bachelor’s degree, students engage in intensive research work, including scientific research practices. The Department of Management and IT endeavors to ensure that the topics of bachelor’s theses reflect the priorities of scientific and technological development in Armenia and the sustainable development goals outlined by the United Nations.

Professional:

Initial knowledge:

  • Fundamental knowledge of computers and computer networks, covering basic concepts.
  • Categorization of information technologies across various domains, including text and digital information processing, hypertext methods of information presentation and storage, and document markup languages.
  • Introduction to network types, structures, local area network operations, protocols, and local area network certificates.
  • Introduction to the basics of information security, encompassing primary threats and countermeasures.
  • General understanding of data collection, storage, presentation, transfer processing, and delivery technologies, with an emphasis on interpreting Big Data processing and management technologies.
  • Proficiency in managing processes related to the creation and utilization of products and services within information systems and communication, including the development of algorithms and programs for their implementation.
  • Competence in analyzing software and technical resources, along with the creation of information systems, products, and services.
  • Ability to formulate algorithms for various problems and program information models and systems, such as economic, financial, and organizational-managerial systems.
  • Proficiency in programming applications and creating software prototypes to address application problems, including the performance of software component testing.
