The Micro-GEAR Project workshop took place at the University of Georgia in Tbilisi

The Micro-GEAR Project workshop took place at the University of Georgia in Tbilisi, serving as a crucial platform for assessing the current status and creating a roadmap for Micro-credentials in the South Caucasus region. The event brought together key stakeholders from Georgia, Armenia, and European partners to align strategic goals and explore actionable steps for implementing Micro-credentials in the region. Representatives from 16 institutions across 5 countries participated in this study visit.
 The workshop included presentations, discussions, and roundtables on topics such as the current status and challenges of Micro-credentials in the region, case studies from EU countries, strategies for stakeholder engagement in Micro-credential development, and road mapping both short-term and long-term goals for Micro-credential implementation. Presentations showcased policies and best practices from EU member states, helping participants identify principles that resonate with the unique needs of Georgia and Armenia.
 One of the key outcomes of the workshop was the advancement of regional dialogue on aligning educational programs with workforce needs through Micro-credentials. Continued collaboration among stakeholders aims to promote innovation and enhance the competitiveness of the region’s education and labour sectors. Group discussions provided in-depth insights into actionable steps, resource allocation, and responsibilities for developing national roadmaps and white papers.
This workshop marked a significant milestone in shaping the future of Micro-credentials in the South Caucasus region.
