The International Seminar-Training under the theme “Driving University Strategies towards the Internationalization through the Use of International Benchmarks” Ended

IMG 4651 1The International two-day Seminar-Training under the theme “Driving University Strategies towards the Internationalization through the Use of International Benchmarks” organized by Eurasia International University and National Team of Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs) in Armenia, ended on February 5,2019. Lana Karlova, the coordinator of Erasmus + National Office in Armenia, announced the launch of the second day of the International Workshop. He highlighted the Internationalization and the role of Erasmus in this process. L. Karlova stated that it is essential to form a culture of expanded and attractive Armenian higher education among European students and professors and, as an achievement, she mentioned the organization of suchIMG 4671 1 short-term workshops that enable to discuss actual issues arising from problems with international experts.

erasmusIrina Ferencz, Deputy Director at the Brussels-based Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) continued the work. She presented examples of strategies, indicators and benchmarking at national and institutional levels. Afterwards, the participants organized a discussion on the basis of the following IMG 4691questions:

  • How properly do the national research and university international policies match
  • How related are the implementation of higher education to teaching and learning in Armenian universities,
  • How can the barriers to Internationalization be reduced․

Anahit Ordyan, Assistant to the Vice President of the American University of Armenia delivered a report on the agenda, presenting the best practices of a University Internationalization: challenges, approaches and vision.

The meeting was summed up with  proposals made as a result of discussions. That is, to organize workshops in IMG 4728participating universities, sharing best practices and implementing benchmarking of their own universities.

Let us add that the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of RA, Higher Education Policy Developers, Administrative Staff of Higher Education Institutions, International Relations Officers, Professors and Heads of Student Councils have participated in the Seminar.
