Today, on April 12, “Career Days” skills development annual project launched, organized by the EIU Career Development and Employers Contact Center, “CareerLab” and the “Youth for Future” NGO. The aim of the project is to provide students and young professionals with new job market requirements, to provide them with professional advice, and to develop their non-standard thinking.
The project’s launch was announced by the EIU Rector, Professor Suren Ohanyan. In his speech, he encouraged the involvement of students and alumni in the project, expressing hope that the current project will also contribute to the implementation of the goals set and the acquisition of new skills in line with the requirements of modern labor market. Gagik Makaryan, the President of the Armenian Employers’ Union, spoke about the expectations of employers from the educational system at the present stage of the development of the Armenian economy, highlighting the increasing competitiveness of students and young people in the labor market, focusing on the use of digital technologies, knowledge of languages, access to information, managing information, declarations, the EU Agreement, and the EAEU requirements. Among the most demanding professionals, he highlighted the energetics, biotechnologists, and highlighted the role of the Diaspora in the country’s competitiveness rise.
According to the agenda, Mariana Edilyan, Head of HR Planning and Development Department of MTS Armenia, guided in detail by the preparation of a proper autobiography, as a key to successful self-introduction and staff recruitment.
Seda Vardanyan, the founder and CEO of Global Media Lab, the creator of “YES-BRAND”, continued the meeting. She showed the brand creating process through a communicative activity.
Next, CareerLab trainers Shahane Beglaryan and Alla Gevorgyan, set up their self-presentation formula through interactive game methodology.
The trainer Meri Mamyan summarized the first day of trainings and highlighted volunteering as a career achievement best practice and shared his volunteering experience in Chile.
