On the initiative of the Training Center of the Eurasia International University, a meeting with the Rector of the University Suren Ohanyan and the Second Secretary of the UAE Embassy in Yerevan, Ms. Ahlam Rashed Al-Salami took place.
Ms. Salami was first welcomed by EIU Rector, Doctor of Science, Professor Suren Ohanyan. During the meeting, the Honorable Adviser got acquainted with the educational programs of the university, quality assurance approaches and the requirements for students, as well as discussed the peculiarities of the higher education systems of the two countries, Armenia and the UAE, and their compliance with the requirements of the modern labor market needs.
In the frames of the visit, Mrs. Salami met with EIU students, as well as with the students of the “Young Diplomat’s” school, during which the Armenian-Emirati relations at the current stage were discussed.
In her speech, Ms. Al- Salami mentioned, that the United Arab Emirates always supports the young not only in the UAE but in many countries of the world, including Armenia.
The students asked Ms. Al-Salami various questions related to the UAE government’s promotion of innovative ideas of young people, strengthening diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the UAE, and the localization of the best practices.
In the second part of the meeting, Aisha Bilkheir, a well-known researcher from the UAE National Archives, met with EIU students via the online platform. She presented the role of women in diplomacy, particularly emphasizing some issues related to women’s rights and empowerment. It is worth mentioning that the implementation of investment programs in the above-stated direction tackled the interests of the participants.
At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Al- Salami presented books to EIU Rector Suren Ohanyan on behalf of the UAE National Archive. The Rector of EIU, Mr. Ohanyan, expressed satisfaction and highly valued Ms. Al-Salami’s readiness to meet with students, as well as assured that the books donated by her would find a special place in the University Library.
