On the agenda of the Academic Council: Scientific and educational activities in the conditions of epidemic or under the state of military emergency

On the 22nd of October, the Academic Council of Eurasia International University took place online and was chaired by the Chairman of the Council, Doctor of Science, Professor Suren Ohanyan.

During the online session, the council addressed the issues on the agenda, which were based on increasing the efficiency of the university’s scientific and educational activities during the epidemic and the state of military emergency.

Based on the military situation in the country, the Academic Council established tuition benefits both for the students of Artsakh University and for those students who are volunteering the military service. The issues related to the organization of the educational process for international students under the epidemic and military conditions were also discussed. The results of the discussions and the relevant decisions made will be notified to the students shortly.

Mariam Jilavyan, Head of the EIU Quality Assurance Center, presented the results of the monitoring carried out in the EIU by the professional-expert group of the National Center for Quality Assurance to the Academic Council which included the observed problems and the progress.

The ANQA experts’ considerations will soon be discussed thoroughly also by the working group of EIU Institutional Accreditation’s “Expert’s Report on the Action Plan for Eliminating Mistakes” finalizing the internal evaluation, and the first report submitted by ANQA.

Nune Jomardyan, Head of the Center for International Relations, spoke about the new opportunities, participation, and activity of the Erasmus + International Mobility Program. N. Jomardyan emphasized the fact of the activity of international programs, despite some restrictions caused by the pandemic.

Christina Antonyan, the President of the EIU Student Council, presented the support programs for Artsakh to the Academic Council of EIU.

The issues of organizing free of charge courses by the EIU for undergraduate and graduate students of Artsakh were also discussed at the session. The head of the public relations and advertising department presented the number of applicants mentioning that the students from Artsakh are very interested in the offered courses.  Free of charge courses will be organized jointly with the chairs in the near future. Summing up the session, President Suren Ohanyan highlighted the relevance of making decisions for the stated issues.
