PRACTICUM AND INTERSIP

Internship and practicum are the integral part of the academic process at EIU. All the EIU students of 3rd and 4th years are to pass practicum and internship accordingly. The duration and the deadlines of the practicum are to be determined by the curriculum of the academic program (Bachelor studies: the duration for the students of the 3rd year is four weeks, and the duration for the students of the 4th year is eight weeks).

The internship and practicum aim to methodologically expand and deepen students’ professional knowledge and skills, foster their abilities to work independently, collaborate with a team as well as to provide data collection opportunity for their graduation projects. Such components of the academic program contribute to the further advancement of students’ self-education and self-improvement skills.

Throughout the internship and practicum students acquire professional as well as sociopolitical experience. RA state and local government bodies and agencies along with other independent organizations are to be determined as institutions for students’ internship.

Research and pedagogical scientific internship

All the EIU Mater’s 2nd year students are to obligatory take research and pedagogical scientific internship. The duration and the deadlines of the internship are to be determined by the curriculum of the academic program (Master’s studies:  1st term –pedagogical internship with the duration of four weeks, 2nd term – research internship with the duration of eight weeks).

The research internship aims to methodologically expand and deepen students’ professional knowledge and skills, foster their abilities to work independently, collaborate with a team as well as to conduct an independent research. Whereas pedagogical internship aims to make students practically apply the theoretical knowledge they have gained throughout the Master’s studies. The main learning objectives of pedagogical internship are:

  • Reinforcement of the knowledge, skills and abilities learnt throughout the Master’s program
  • Development and application of diverse teaching methods and modern educational techniques
  • Advancement of students’ self-education and self-improvement skills.

RA state and local government bodies and agencies along with other independent organizational are to be determined as institutions for students’ internship.
